As we welcome the warmth of spring, it's with great pleasure that we share some exciting updates from our recent board-driven initiatives. Your Board of Trustees has been hard at work, focusing on securing the financial stability of our community and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. We are leading from the front!
Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District
1. A New Tax Policy:
We are thrilled to announce the successful passage of a new tax policy aimed at preventing over taxation within our community. This strategic move is a commitment to fiscal responsibility, with a contract in place to safeguard against excessive taxation in the future. Over the past three years, we have already saved the public over 90 million dollars, a significant achievement. Essentially, we have made a contract with you – our taxpayers – that we will alert you of any changes that need to be made to the tax rate and will require two meetings in order to make any changes to the tax rate. This is a checks and balances for the board in regard to community expectations.
2. Enhanced Security with Resource Officers on Every Campus:
Ensuring the safety of our community, especially our children, is a top priority. We are pleased to inform you that the cities of Colleyville and Grapevine have joined hands with us to fund security resource officers for the next eight years. This collaboration is a testament to the commitment of these cities' leadership to invest in the safety of our schools and community. Together, we are working to create a secure environment for everyone.
3. Contract Renewal and Bonus Structure for Dr. Schnautz:
In recognition of the dedicated leadership of Dr. Schnautz, we are delighted to share that his contract has been renewed. To further incentivize his exemplary work, a bonus structure has been implemented, focusing on key performance indicators such as balancing the budget, achieving academic objectives, promoting teacher retention, and maintaining a healthy ratio of administrative positions to teachers. Dr. Schnautz's commitment to prioritizing resources in the classroom aligns with our vision for a thriving educational environment.
